YEAR OF PRAYER 2024 – TEACH US TO PRAY – PRAYER COURSE
Read the Announcement Letter here.
As part of the preparation for the Jubilee Year in 2025, we have prepared a short Prayer Course consisting of three sessions. This course answers the call to prepare prayerfully for the Jubilee 2025 and is based on the message “Lord, teach us to pray”.
The course introduces three different methods:
- Centering Prayer
- Lectio Divina
- Franciscan Prayer
HOW TO GET STARTED
The course is designed to be run in three sessions within parishes and ideally suited to small faith sharing groups. The course is also designed to be self explanatory and required none or with minimal training and support.
There are two booklets for the course that provide all the necessary guidance to help facilitators lead the course and participants to take part.
The Facilitator booklet contains all the material for the course PLUS instructions for the facilitators to guide them through each session.
The Participant booklet contains the material for people to follow the course and explore the methods.
WHEN
The course can be run any time in the parishes but it is highly recommended to run it in three weeks before Advent this year.
FUTURE
It is planned to expand this series with further prayer methods during the Jubilee Year, one in Lent and another later in the year.
SMALL FAITH SHARING GROUPS
Now is a good time for your PPC portfolio coordinator of Evangelisation to begin the process of forming small faith-sharing groups within your parish and appointing leaders/facilitators of those groups.
